We need a bibliography on the conservation of engineering and industrial objects.
This can be achieved in several ways but will always be limited by the languages of the author.
If we work on a common format and develop a bibliography electronically them maybe we will enable it to be slightly more inclusive.
If it is to be done electronically then it needs to follow the "Keep it simple" principle.
Hence I'm working on the next step!
A standard format.
Keep you posted.

Metals_Working_Group Theme on the conservation of Industrial and engineering Cultural objects "IECO"
As part of the 2005 to 2008 plan this theme looks at current conservation and restoration practice in the field of Industrial and Engineering Cultural Objects conservation and preservation (IECO).
A bibliography will be developed on current and past approaches to Industrial and Engineering Cultural Objects conservation. Current and past conservation methods and practice will be evaluated through case studies of specific conservation projects and of specific conservation methods.
Industrial literature will be consulted for potentially useful conservation materials, processes and products. The sub-WG will also coordinate strongly with the " BIG STUFF " conference in Bochum in 2007.
I'm currently calling for the names of members of the Metals Working Group who would be interested in participating in this theme/Sub-Group. I am particularly interested in developing the Multi-lingual bibliography as tool that can be ready for use at "big stuff" in September 2007.
Please contact me if you are interested in participating in this Sub-Group.
Please use the firstname.lastname@example.org address for this group as the NMA spam filters can be overly aggressive.
This email was posted to interested proferssionals in June 06.
This web log is my thoughts and some discussions on these topics.
